And while I don't take the Zionists side in this conflict at the meta level, the idea that Hamas or the PA are anything but odious scumbags, with brains addled by Jihad and Jew hatred and delusions of power is delusional. The reason Gaza can't take care of its own people is cuz they elected Hamas and put them in power. Hamas is the reason the Palestinians don't have better infrastructure. The PA is the reason the Palestinians are wards of the global aid machine too. But hey, they do focus on killing Jews, so the Palis go along with it.
Being a militant organization that doesn't care to govern its own people well and provide for them has consequences. This is one of them.

As a trauma surgeon, I have been blessed to see the best and worst in humanity. The victims of war are rarely those who were responsible for it. Thank you for your perspective. Drs Warren and Morton at the MGH (aptly named ether dome) are two of the brilliant surgeons who were first to bring anesthesia to the operating Theater. In addition it wasn’t until after WWII that antibiotics were put into regular use in surgical procedures. Finally, surgeons were still gloveless until the mid 1980s for many procedures.
