Another brilliant essay by Dr Francis Christian has brightened up my weekend.

I am retired from two careers, Computer programming and college math teaching. Now I spend my time assisting a mother of 10 as she homeschools the last 6 boys. I have 3 recommendations.

1. Use Saxon Math. You can buy the books from homeschooling textbook suppliers or you can buy them used.

2. The Good and the Beautiful curriculum for Reading, Writing and Phonics is excellent. The books are available through 8th grade and FREE if you download and print them yourself. It is a rigorous but child-friendly curriculum.

3. I am about to use a Writing curriculum from the Institute for Excellence in Writing. I have no personal experience with it but there is extensive free material at IEW.com for you to assess it.

A short story about this family: Last spring, one of the boys was hospitalized after an injury. I went to their house to help. When I got there, you could hear a pin drop and I found 5 boys busily doing their school work. An older son was taking care of the 3-year-old. Homeschooling is not just about acquiring knowledge!

Just here to add encouragement for those considering homeschooling.

My family homeschooled way before it was cool! My twin daughters are now 25 and both very successful, by any measure. We homeschooled them all but the last 3 semesters of high school (and then public school only because the kids wanted to see what it was like. They then went on to bachelors and masters degrees, tops of their classes, at a state uni. I'm no one special, and we did nothing special in our homeschooling. We were broke, totally disorganized, changed our plan every other year, and did nothing (unschooled) at least half the time. Yet, somehow, our kids excelled at most everything they did. Children are little learning machines, all they need is a lot of love and a smidge of direction.

Schools today exist solely to sap the creativity and ingenuity OUT of our kids, and to build a submissive slave class. And they do a damn good job of it! #Homeschool NOW!

Matthew 7:6 Do not caste your pearls before swine lest they trample them under their feet and turn and tear you into pieces.

“Children are the real pearls of a family and the crown jewels of a nation; they are priceless treasures that must be protected and preserved at all cost.”

And why this is the most urgent issue of our time...if we don't take action, it will truly be the end of this society, our culture. Annihilating the youth is a brilliant way to end a people.

But to homeschool, a parent must be at home. Very few families can afford today's living expenses with a single income. Lifestyle changes and sacrifices must also occur to successfully implement your proposal.

WHILE RAISING THREE DAUGHTERS IT BACAME VERY CLEAR THAT HOMESCHOOLING WAS NECESSARY! WHY? FIRST DAUGHTER EXCELLED IN EVERYTHING AND WAS A TOP CHEERLEADER-ATHLETE TOO, BUT BY THE SECOND HALF OF THE 10TH GRADE THE SCHOOL STARTED MANDATING ALL STUDENTS TO HAVE ANOTHER CHICKENPOX SHOT! WHY WAS THE QUESTION THAT COULD NOT BE ADEQUATELY ANSWERED! MY OLDEST DAUGHTER QUIT SCHOOL AND TOOK THE GED AND THE ACT (SCORING 26) AND STARTED DENTAL HYGIENISTS SCHOOL!

WHILE MY SECOND DAUGHTER WAS OVERLOOKED BY THE MIDDLESCHOOL TEACHERS AND BECAUSE SHE WAS DYSLEXIC THEY DECIDED SHE NEEDED SPECIAL EDUCATION SCHOOL WHICH WAS NOTHING MORE THAN A COP + METAL DETECTORS AND SITTING IN FRONT OF A COMPUTER TERMINAL DAILY!

AFTER REMOVING HER FROM THE EIGHTH GRADE SHE TO AFTER REACHING THE AGE OF 16 TOOK AND PASSED THE GED AND IS NOW A GREAT MOTHER OF 3 CHILDREN! THE LAST DAUGHTER HAS NEVER ATTENDED ANY OTHER SCHOOL EXCEPT HOMESCHOOL! SHE IS ONLY 11 BUT HAS ACHIEVED SUCH EDUCATIONAL HEIGHTS THAT THE ONLY REASONING FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION IS TO DUMB DOWN OUR CHILDREN AND CREATE A SELECT GROUP OF CHILDREN FOR THE ELITISTS CLASS SO FEUDALISM CAN ONCE AGAIN BE IMPLEMENTED IN THE WORLD! A RULING CLASS AND A CLASS OF PAUPERS! THE BUZZWORD “EQUITY” MEANS THAT EVERYONE BUT THE ELITE CLASS SHALL BE POOR! THE MIDDLECLASS IN AMERICA AND THE WORLD IS UNDER ATTACK! THE WHOLE WEF/ELITE ECONOMIC SYSTEM UTILIZING THE GREEN NEW DEAL IS OUT TO DESTROY THE MIDDLECLASS ALONG WITH GENOCIDING AS MANY OTHERS IT CAN GENOCIDE! ONE MAY THINK THIS IS CONSPIRATORIAL BUT STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU WAKE UP AND TAKE NOTICE OF THE CURRENT WORLD, ESPECIALLY AMERICA!

IF YOUR CHILD REACHES THE EIGHTH GRADE THEN WITH A LITTLE HELP THEY CAN ATTAIN A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA! WITH HOMESCHOOLING THEY CAN REACH HEIGHTS IN EDUCATION ONLY THOSE ELITE CHILDREN RECEIVE THROUGH TUTORS AND SPECIAL ONE ON ONE EDUCATIONAL ENDEAVORS! ALL PARENTS CAN TEACH THEIR CHILDREN THE NECESSARY CHRISTIAN IDEOLOGY INCLUDING READING, WRITING, ARITHMETIC, SCIENCE, ENGLISH AND ESPECIALLY COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY EASILY! PARENTS, DO NOT DOUBT YOUR ABILITY TO TEACH YOUR CHILDREN! TAKE YOUR CHILD OUT OF THE CURRENT PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM UNLESS YOU KNOW FOR FACT THE CURRICULUM AND ALL OTHER EDUCATIONAL FACTORS BEING APPLIED TO YOUR CHILDREN! PLEASE WAKE UP AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHILD! YES, IT TAKES TIME BUT IF YOU WILL NOT MAKE THE TIME FOR YOUR CHILD THE STATE WILL CAPTURE ANOTHER MIND AWAY FROM GOD AND FOR THE THE EVIL STATIN (SATIN)!

I agree school is potentially dangerous. My grandson came home one day from grade one and commented that “I think I’m a boy.” When I assured him that he was a boy and asked why his concern, he explained that he learned at school that he could be whatever gender he wanted. I find this sickening, but not sure we could handle homeschooling. Much credit to those who attempt it.

My ex has many friends. One couple homeschooled their kids, and those kids were the most interesting and interactive of all the kids I'd met. They are curious and engaging, while the others seem a bit dull. They don't ask any questions and don't seem interested in much. Yes, homeschool if possible!
